Happy official Q4, everyone! Or as I like to call it, Midnight Margarita season.

It’s Midnight Margarita Season!

This month I have some fun things to share, and I’m excited to dive in.

First off– Happy Filipino American History Month (FAHM)!

This month’s theme is "From Quotas to Communities: Filipino American Migration and Movement." Even in the year 2025, Filipino Americans are the second-largest Asian American group (4.4 million nationally), yet community is just still seen as the forgotten minority in a lot of industries. It’s been amazing being here in Portland and fighting that stigma one production shoot at a time.

To further celebrate this, I had the amazing opportunity to be a panel for DIWA’s PERMANENCE: Where We've Been, Where We're Going at the Travel Portland Visitor’s Center on Oct 15th. The intimate event bought together FilAm folks from different walks of life.

DIWA Magazine is a publication that amplifies the voices, stories, and artistry of the Filipino diaspora. Through thoughtfully curated essays, photo essays, and interviews, DIWA explores identity, heritage, and creative expression across generations.

Moving to Portland a couple years ago, I felt that since I’m coming from a vibrant Filipino community in San Diego, that it would be such an uphill climb finding my own pocket of Pinoys here in Portland. I’m so glad to have I’m finding my own group of kababayans here and with more to hopefully meet soon.

Partner Shoutout: Fli Media

This month’s partner shoutout goes to the amazing folks over at Fli Media. This amazing business, led by the awesome Jessica Vanterpool gave me my first set of gigs here in Portland.
